The Belliard family history dates back to 1497 when Pierre Belliard planted his first vineyard at Entre-Deux-Mers. According to history, a prominent member of the family, General Agustin saved the life of Napoleon Bonaparte when his horse getting shot on a lake during an Italian war.
Xavier Belliard previously owned the famous Château Renon, Cadillac.
